Image Guide

As the old saying goes, a picture paints a thousand words, and when selling a classic or performance car, it couldn’t be more accurate.

Providing potential buyers with a selection of well shot and clear images that represent the true condition of your vehicle is key to ensuring you achieve the best possible price.

In this photography guide we’ll show you how to prepare and take the best photos of your vehicle.

Pre-photography check List

  • Is the vehicle clean inside and out?
  • Is the vehicle free from any personal items for example, Sunglasses, blankets etc
  • Ensure you take all photographs in landscape (wide not tall)
  • Try not to take photos in direct sunlight, this will cause glare and not show the vehicle at its best
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked with plenty of space around so you can get consistent images

Remember, quality photos can get you a higher price!

Position the vehicle correctly
in all photos

Retake any photos where
part of the vehicle has cut off

Exterior Images

Start at the front of the vehicle, take a few steps back and take your first shot,  take a few steps left and take another – take a minimum of 8 photos around the vehicle like below – front, back, both sides and all 4 corners.

Now get some more detailed images of the wheels, lights, badges etc

Interior Images

Open the doors and get some shots of the dash, door cards, seats, instrument cluster, headlining, carpets and the boot – the more photos the better!

Engine and Underneath

Get some clear images of the engine from a few angles, also take a handful of shots of the underneath of the vehicle from each side.

Damage

Please take photos of any damage on the vehicle, be sure to look out for stone chips, rust bubbles, poor repair work, flat paint, pitted chrome etc

Paperwork / Extras

Documenting history or showcasing proof of restoration work is just as important as sending images of your vehicle. Please take several shots of the paperwork the vehicle comes with, be sure to highlight any large bills or recent work carried out, if there is a service book with stamps please take a photo of all the pages with stamps. You can also add any additional images – for example a photo of spare parts that will come with the vehicle or additional keys, trophies, certificates etc

Completed?

Remember, quality photos can get you a higher price!

Check your photos again and make sure you are showing your car at it’s best.

If you have any questions or are struggling to get the required photos please feel free to call your account manager.
